Students across Epping Forest have been finding out their A-Level results this morning.

Among the students who have been accepted into their chosen universities were were Victoria Bedwell, Tommy Sutton and Esther Burgess from Davenant Foundation School in Chester Road, Loughton,.

Victoria got three A* in Politics, Theatre Studies and English Literature and Language.

She will study Linguistics at Lancaster University with a view to becoming a speech therapist.

She said: “I burst into tears straight away when I opened my results.

“It’s been two years of working so hard and sacrificing everything else to do well and now I’m so happy it’s paid off.”

Esther, who achieved three A* in Psychology, Art and Religious Education and will study Psychology at Bath in September.

She hopes to complete a doctorate and become a psychologist specialising in treating children with Downs Syndrome and Autism.

Tommy, who achieved two A* and two As, will be studying medicine at Cambridge and hopes to become a doctor.

He said: “I’m delighted. I didn’t have any back-up university so it was Cambridge or nothing.

“I’m looking forward to meeting new people and being taught by some of the best teachers in the world.”
