Two private school students achieved 10 A*s at A-level between them.

Joanne Pham and Charlotte Krishek both achieved five A*s each in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths, at Bancroft’s School in High Road, Woodford Green.

Joanne has a place at Downing College, Cambridge, to read Natural Sciences, while Charlotte will study Medicine at Imperial College, London.

Deputy Headteacher, Mark Dixon, said: “This is a remarkable achievement for the two girls. It is the kind of thing we will see once a decade.”

A total of 17 pupils achieved at least 3 A*s and the school has seen an increase in the number of A* grades awarded to its pupils rise to 30% from 28% in 2013.
