A man has denied killing a pensioner by careless driving.

Josh Benjamin, 22, of Southern Drive in Loughton, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to causing the death of 78-year-old Emilie Buckner.

Mrs Buckner was hit by a van in Oakwood Hill, Loughton, on October 10 last year.

Benjamin is due to appear on trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on January 19 next year.
