A 58-year-old man will go on trial today after being accused of allowing a woman to live in his garage despite being warned by the council in 2009.
Brian Gage of Dale View Avenue in Chingford faces one charge of breaching an enforcement notice.
According to Waltham Forest Council the resident had turned a garage into a single dwelling house with associated fixtures and fittings, in which a woman was living.
LBWF issued a notice to Mr Gage in 2009 to remove the building from the land behind houses in Dale View Crescent and clear the land.
However, he is now being accused of breaching the conditions by allowing a woman to live there between September and October last year.
He will appear at Thames Magistrates Court today.
