'Suspicious package' contained batteries
A suspicious package reported to police yesterday at Walthamstow Central Station contained batteries, police have said.
At 3pm yesterday officers were called to Hoe Street to reports of a ‘suspicious package’.
A spokeswoman from the Met said that surrounding roads were closed ‘as a precaution’.
Officers then discovered that the package contained what police have described as ‘degraded batteries’.
Roads were reopened at 4pm.
