Students have been planning campaigns to improve life for people in the borough.
Teenagers aged 15 to 17 came up with ideas during a summer project before presenting them in a Dragons' Den-style contest last week.
The ‘dragons’ included cabinet member for children and young People, Mark Rusling, Carina Kanbi of the British Council, and Gangs Task Force officer, Richard Graheme.
Students from schools and colleges across the borough took part in the government-funded programme, run by NCS with The Challenge.
Mark Rusling said that the young people he met were a "credit" to the borough.
Campaigns included more first aid coaching for young people, with some awarded £80 towards launching a campaign.
The project involves 300 young people and will finish in September.
