Ray Yates lives in Wood Street and previously worked in housing repairs and maintenance for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

He is a vocal member of Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy's Home Sweet Home Campaign which seeks to highlight the problem of buying and renting in WF.

In this week's speaking out, Mr Yates is discussing examples of 'housing horrors' and how bad quality or dangerous property, spiralling high rents, introduction fees, poor repairs and maintenance, or unprofessional service is ruining resident's lives.

Market forces, if you can't afford to live in Waltham Forest, you have to move where you can afford. What do you want ? Someone to give you a house free so you can live in the village?

We were not all born with a silver spoon in our mouth like Stella Creasey who became an MP for a hobby.
