A CCTV video and image has been released of a burglar.

Suspect 156281 is wanted in connection with a break-in at Betfred bookmakers in High Road, Leytonstone, on August 9.  

At around 3.40am two men are seen breaking into the betting shop through the fire exit and attempting to steal the shop's safe. 

They cut the intruder alarm wire which automatically alerted police to the scene.

Here is a short CCTV video of the burglar carrying a lifting trolley through the betting shop. 

One man was arrested on scene but the man (pictured) managed to escape. 

The CCTV has been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify potential perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.
