A doctor who suffered with depression and bipolar disorder and who had been advised to cut his workload took his own life, an inquest heard.
Petre Jones, 51, was found dead in his home in Wanstead by police on November 14, 2013.
The doctor, who had owned his own practice in Plaistow since 2003, died of asphyxiation caused by a sack, Walthamstow Coroner’s Court heard.
Giving evidence at the inquest, Dr Jones' eldest daughter Bethan described him as an 'active man'.
“He always wanted to try and help people. He worked in a deprived area in Plaistow because he wanted to make a difference,” she said.
“He went to church and he was fairly active there, he liked to travel and he did a lot of running.
“I know that for as long as I can remember he had bipolar, depression and has been in hospital for it a few times.”
