Police are appealing for help to identify a man in connection with a sexual assault in Epping Forest.

At around 9.30am yesterday a woman jogger was grabbed from behind and sexually molested by a man.

The attacker threatened his victim with a knife.

During the struggle the 33-year-old scratched the man’s neck with her door keys.

The woman was wearing black jogging bottoms with a white stripe, a black top with purple on the side and grey and pink training shoes.

Police have described the attacker as a black man, approximately 30-years-old, 5ft 5ins tall and of muscular build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt or top.

Officers guarded an area of Hollow Ponds on Whipps Cross Road yesterday as they searched for evidence.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the Hollow Ponds area of Whipps Cross around the time of this incident who saw either the victim or the suspect, as well as anyone who may have information concerning the identity of the man.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Lee Taylor, Detective Sergeant Vicky Cullen or Detective Sergeant Will Lexton-Jones of Waltham Forest CID by dialling 101 or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 4917677/14.

Trouble is, the Liberal s of this land deny there is a problem with crime, enabling the government and the police to justify removing resources to fight crime. This along with political correctness, like the problems with the Asian gangs grooming white children up North only makes the crooks win and the victims lose.

faro0485 how can you say women are armed? are you for real? the lady was Jogging and was not carrying her handbag :) so her door keys must have been in her pocket, during a struggle of being attacked, one would find anything to defend themselves, there is no reason for assault charges or for a victim to be arrested, SHE IS THE VICTIM trying to defend herself.

How do you know? The suspect has not been arrested yet and there is no trial yet. Who are you? Madam Rosa?

I'm saying she and the rest of the law abiding country should have access to self defence equipment, being armed and the like. So that no perp would even dream of attacking a woman. Of course she did use her key, but you have heard it many times of victims being charged for defending themselves. And in a case of his word against her, a lawyer could argue an assault charge. It has happened. And those are the miscarriage of justice, and it started with denying women the right to bear arms let alone Protestants since Bill Of Rights 1689

Would be nice if the Police and the Courts started to take sex crimes more seriously - too much in the news where they have not. No wonder Rape and sexual assaults are up 30%
