The new Bishop of Barking will begin his new job in a service on Sunday.

The Right Reverend Peter Hill, who will cover Wanstead and Woodford, Epping Forest, and Waltham Forest, will appear at a service in Chelmsford Cathedral at 3pm.

The service will mark the start of his role as a Church of England bishop following the resignation of David John Leader Hawkins on 30 March after 11 years as bishop for the area.

He was consecrated on July 25 at St Paul's Cathedral.
