A shoplifter has been caught on camera stealing from a phone shop in Leyton.

The CCTV footage has been released by police in Waltham Forest in a bid to try and identify the thief who stole a £300 phone from Carphone Warehouse at Leyton Mills retail park, in Marshall Road.

He entered the store on August 10 at around 4.20pm and walked around before approaching the Nokia phone display and forcing a Lumia 930 handset from the stand.

The footage has been released to the Guardian as part of a joint venture with the Metropolitan Police to identify perpetrators of unsolved crimes in the borough.

Anyone with information is asked contact Waltham Forest police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

I think there's more pressing issues going on in the borough than a bit of shoplifting and petrol theft. You know like violent crime..

I take it then you won't complain to much if someone breaks in to your house and steals your items that you won't be to bothered if the police say they have more pressing issues to deal with. petty crime by these arseholes costs all of us in the long run -all crime costs the taxpayers and needs to be dealt with.
