An internet troll has been convicted of repeatedly sending messages threatening to sexually assault Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy.

Peter Nunn, 33, from Bristol, retweeted abusive messages after Ms Creasy backed a Bank of England move to feature author Jane Austen on the new £10 note.

He was found guilty of sending indecent, obscene or menacing messages during a hearing at the City of London Magistrates' Court.

Nunn, who claimed the messages were "a joke", was warned he faced a prison sentence.
He is due to be sentenced on 29 September.
