The chairman of a primary school has been presented with a British Empire Medal after being recognised for more than 20 years of service.
Raymond Warner, chairman of governors at Hereward Primary School, recieved the award on Tuesday as a commendation for years of support to the school and the community of Loughton and Epping Forest.
Mr Warner collected the medal from the Lord Lietenant of Essex, Lord Petre at Ingatestone Hall in Ingatestone.
Mr Warner said: “The ceremony was moving and dignified. I felt honoured to be amongst people being recognised for the contribution they have made to their community.
“I am especially pleased that Hereward School featured in the citation read at the ceremony.”
