A second man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Epping at the weekend.
Police have arrested a 25-year-old man from Stamford Hill in north London this afternoon.
He has been taken to Harlow police station for questioning by detectives.
The victim, described by police as a 31-year-old from London, was stabbed in the chest shortly before 4.25am in Epping High Road on Saturday.
He was taken to the Royal London Hospital for surgery where he remains in a critical condition.
The second arrest follows that of a 20-year-old man last night who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He remains in custody.
