A council-run customer service centre in the heart of Walthamstow could be set to close.
The popularity of online payments and services has been cited by Waltham Forest Council as the reason for a new consultation.
Over the next few weeks residents are being asked to tell the authority how they use the Customer Service Centre in Hoe Street.
If the centre is shut all services will be available from the four Library Plus venues, according to the council.
At Library Plus residents can make payments, make online claims, scan documents and make appointments for registering births.
The council has not revealed whether there will be redundancies or how much money will be saved by closing the centre.
