A retired police officer has been found not guilty of repeatedly molesting a girl 50 years ago.
James Miller, 85, of Marks Avenue in Ongar, denied abusing a four-year-old girl during visits to her mother's flat between 1966 and 1968.
Mr Miller argued that the victim had been prompted by the Jimmy Savile scandal to make a false claim against him to make money.
The Jury found the defendant not guilty on all accounts yesterday.
