Contactless card payment starts on London's transport network today
Passengers can now use contactless bank cards instead of Oyster cards to pay for journeys on the Tube, Docklands Light Railway and Overground routes.
From today, bank cards can be used to touch-in, in a move which it is hoped will save money as banks would take care of administration.
Transport for London (TfL) say they will accept all UK-issued contactless American Express, MasterCard or Visa credit, debit, pre-paid or charge payment cards.
Those using bank cards will not pay more than a daily travelcared, regardless of how many journeys they make, and a simialr cap is being introduced over the course of a week.
