A martial arts instructor has held a free workshop in a bid to counter bullying.
Matt Chapman, 38, of Masters Academy, Loughton, hosted the session at the weekend in an attempt to teach children aged six to 13 how to deal with difficult situations.
The evening took place on Friday at Masters Academy and trained youngsters in preventing, dealing and stopping bullying if it was to occur.
Mr Chapman said: "I was bullied a bit as a kid so I know how it feels and how destructive it can be.
"I want to help local kids learn the physical and mental skills to deal with bullying.
"I spoke to the kids and talked them through situations, they all went away with basic skills and knowledge on how to make sure they are not made victims.
"The session went very well and everyone really enjoyed themselves."
