Police forced entry into a house yesterday after reports of a ‘chemical incident’.
A man in his 40s was taken to hospital after officers forced open the front door of a home in Edward Road and found him unconscious.
Police were still on the scene this morning which was attended by paramedics and fire crews yesterday at around noon.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “We were called at around 12.20pm to an address in E17.
“We sent a single responder and, advanced paramedic and the hazardous area response team.
“A man in his 40s was taken to hospital as a priority.”
Both services have refused to reveal more about the ‘chemicals’ which the fire service were called to inspect.
