A man charged with murdering a mother at her home has been remanded in police custody after appearing in court.
Lloyd Byfield, 48, was arrested on Friday in connection with the murder of Leighann Duffy.
Miss Duffy, 26, was stabbed in the neck at her home in Hatherley House, Walthamstow, on September 1.
She died in hospital on September 3.
A six-year-old child at the address received treatment at the scene for a minor injury and did not attend hospital.
Byfield, of no fixed abode, appeared in court on Friday and was remanded to appear for a plea and case management hearing tomorrow.
Neighbours described how they went to Miss Duffy's aid when they heard her screams.
A post-mortem gave the cause of death as a stab wound.
