The organiser of a free annual village festival has decided to expand her annual children's Halloween event following demand from parents.

For more than five years, Chingford Village Festival organiser Irene Bull, 61, has hosted the sell-out family-themed spooky disco at Chingford Assembly Hall which will return to Station Road on October 31.

But after being swarmed every year at the Chingford event by parents from other areas asking for a similar event, Ms Bull will now host a Halloween party at Roding Valley High School in Alderton Hill, Loughton, on November 1 and at St John's School in Bury Lane, Epping, on November 2.

"It is always so popular and every year parents who live in places like Loughton and Epping come up to me and say, 'I wish we had the same thing closer to home' so for the first time I've arranged all three parties."

Her aim this year it to change some parent's negative perception of Halloween and to guarantee them a "fun time in a contained, safe, environment."

The discos will feature musical games, stall holders, and children's entertainer 'Sally Squiggle' at Chingford and 'Bob's Your Uncle' at Loughton and Epping.

Chingford disco will run from 5pm to 8pm, Loughton from 4pm to 7pm and Epping 3pm to 6pm.

Tickets costing £6 for children and £4 for adults can be booked by contacting Ms Bull on 0208 559 4500 or at irenebull@hotmail.co.uk/www.chingfordevents.com
