An annual school festival is set to educate over 700 Olympic hopefuls.

Students from two Epping Forest schools will experience training in cycling, tennis and hockey for free at London 2012 venues next month.

Davenant Foundation School in Loughton and Epping Forest Primary School in Epping will cycle with other schools from Hertfordshire and Essex at the Lee Valley VeloPark on October 13, 14, 20 an 21.

Students will also play hockey and tennis at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre where the wheelchair tennis took place during the Paralympic Games.

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority Chief Executive Shaun Dawson said: “This Festival is more solid proof of the successful sporting legacy we’re delivering from London 2012.

“It will give schoolchildren from across the capital and further afield the chance to follow their heroes and take part in sport in truly inspirational surroundings.

“We hope the young people involved will embrace these sports and continue participating in these fantastic activities.

“Who knows – we could discover a future champion!”
