A Woodford Bridge man was found guilty for his role in a nightclub fight leaving the victim needing £5,000 of dental work.

Jack Wood, 22, of Waltham Road, Woodford Bridge, was among three others to be convicted of violent disorder and grievous bodily harm on Friday at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

The others to be found guilty were Bradley Sussman, 22, of Burfield Road, Southend, Dean Gleeson, 23, of Fastnet, Southend and Elliott Barnes, 25, Truro Crescent, Rayleigh.

Two others were found not guilty at the court in Hollybush Hill.

After an altercation, two groups of men were thrown out of Faces Nightclub, in Cranbrook Road, Ilford, on July 14 2013.

The two groups of around six men were walking near to Gants Hill Roundabout and a fight broke out, leaving the victim knocked out for about 90 seconds.

He was taken to King George Hospital in Goodmayes, before being moved to Queen’s Hospital in Romford.

Six men were arrested and charged with affray and actual bodily harm, before these were changed to violent disorder and grievous bodily harm.

The four men found guilty were sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and told to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.

They must also pay the victim £100 each, with Wood, Sussman, and Barnes also having to pay £1,000 each in prosecution costs.

Gleeson had to pay £750 in prosecution costs and £250 in compensation.

Detective Constable Terry Smith, from Redbridge police, detailed the injuries that the victim suffered.

He said: “He suffered extensive facial injuries during the assault and received plastic surgery.

“He had to have dental work done which was in excess of £5,000.”
