An environmental charity has celebrated its success with the opening of a larger premises in Epping.

ECCO reuse shop has signed a 10 year lease on the former tile shop in High Road Epping, and plans to update the ‘charity shop experience’ using wi-fi and social media.

The store, which was opened by Epping Forest District Council Chairman Tony Boyce this morning, has introduced a photobooth which will automatically publish images taken in-store onto Facebook and Twitter, and a wi-fi hotspot for customers to research items for sale.

ECCO volunteer Molly Folan said: “We are very exited to have had The Chairman of Epping Council open our new shop.

“This a long term commitment to Epping Forest District and we hope to continue to build a great relationship with our donors and customers.

“With the help of Essex County Council we will also be upcycling furniture that would otherwise be sent to landfill.

“It’s going to be fantastic to bring back to life iconic retro items and to to bring a whole new look to charity and reuse shopping.”
