Children and teachers dressed up as their favourite Roald Dahl book characters to raise nearly £200 for charity.
Staff and pupils at the Avon House Preparatory School, in High Road, Woodford Green, were raising money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity on Friday.
The children’s costumes included Willy Wonka, Fantastic Mr Fox and Oompa-Loompas, while staff were depicted as witches and the evil headmistress Ms Trunchball from Matilda.
The independent school also hosted a World’s biggest coffee morning event, selling refreshments which raised over £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Headteacher Amanda Campbell said: "This is a great total raised for a very worthwhile cause."
