A primary school was visited today by a professional poet as part of its annual 'Poetry Week' celebrations.
Ian Bland, who regularly features on regional and national radio, entertained Key Stage 2 youngsters at Hereward Primary School this morning with a poetry performance.
As part of the school's Poetry Week, teachers organised breakfasts where children came in early to eat with friends and share some of their favourite poem.
Pupils were also invited to dress up as their favourite poetry character.
Deputy Headteacher Renette Fourie said: “Poetry Week is a highlight of the year at Hereward as the children are inspired by the visit of the poet.
"The children enjoyed all of the other events as well, it proved to be a great success."
