A fifth man has been charged with the murder of a Leyton man in Dagenham.

Ashley Latty, 25, died of multiple stab wounds following an altercation between two groups outside The Beaver Centre in Selinas Lane, Dagenham, on May 18.

Jerome Joseph, 27, of Manor Park Road in Manor Park, was charged by police on Wednesday night and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates Court yesterday.

He has been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, alongside 24 year old Aimee Penfold from Croydon, who has been charged with assisting an offender.

So far, four males have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing.

Kestrel Daniel Dyer, 25, from Barking, Daniel Agyeman, 24, of Thornton Heath, Nicholas Terralonge, 28, of Leytonstone and Nana Oppong, 34 of no fixed abode, were due to enter a plea at the Old Bailey on August 20.

They have all been remanded in custody to re-appear on February 23.

No further action is being taken against four men arrested earlier this year and three men aged 22, 26 and 28 have been bailed until later this month.

Mr Latty was taken to hospital after police were called to the scene at around 5.35am but was pronounced dead at 7.15am.
