A Chingford man is among seven people accused of drug trafficking following a London-wide operation.
Arif Bullici, 35, of Station Road, has been charged with conspiracy to supply heroin after 48kg of the class A drug was seized on September 29.
The heroin, worth an estimated £20 million, was recovered from a vehicle in Crewe and a house in Edmonton.
The men appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Bullici has been remanded in custody with Bilal Bildik, 60, of Severn Drive in Enfield, Emra Kosmaz, 39, of the Bemerton Estate in Islington, Salman Male, 29, of Soho Avenue in Birmingham, Kovan Kochar, 24, of Hamilton Road in Birmingham and Dutch national Gijsbertus Den-Hertog, aged 48.
They are all charged with conspiracy to supply heroin and will appear at Woolwich Crown Court on October 15.
