Residents are being given the chance to nominate their choices for this years Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year awards.
Nominations can be submitted for anyone living in Ongar who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the community.
There is also an award for Young Citizen of the Year that will recognise those aged between 11 and 18.
Chair of Ongar Town Council Diana Roberts said: “I am sure most people will know someone who will be worthy of these awards so I would urge you to nominate that person and give them the recognition that they deserve.”
Nominations must be submitted to the town clerk by December 31 and the winners will be invited to the Annual Town Meeting in March to receive their awards.
