A pub function room has been converted into a Caribbean holiday resort for rehearsals of a new production.
Actors including Peter Dean who player 'Pete Beale' in EastEnders, have spent the last three weeks learning their lines and adapting to new scenery inside the Old Hall Tavern in Hall Lane, Chingford.
Melabeau Productions play 'Singles Holiday' is based on a true-to-life novel by Essex writer Elaine Spire who worked as a tour manager for 12 years.
It focuses on a group of middle-aged single men and women who come together in Antigua for love, lust and laughter.
Landlord Shane Kilcrann rented out the space after being approached by producer Nick Campbell of Burnham Road in Chingford.
"The function room was recommended to Nick. He came, had a look and said it was perfect.
"We cleared everything out for them and they've bought in a bunch of props," said Mr Kilcrann.
Props include carousel umbrellas, fake palm trees, deckchairs, a bar made out of bamboo and other exotic fake plants.
The play is at Brentwood Theatre from October 13 to 17.
