A grade-II listed library is set to close for nearly a year for refurbishment.
Work on Leytonstone Library in Church Lane will start on October 20, as part of Waltham Forest council’s upgrade of facilities across the borough,
The library will remain closed until September next year.
Waltham Forest council says the refurbishment will modernise the library, create flexible spaces to accommodate a wide range of activities and events, and upgrade computer facilities.
The council added original features will be maintained and the external structure will remain the same.
The nearest alternative library will be the Leyton Library Plus, in High Road, Leyton.
