Roads in a part of Walthamstow will return to normal today as the end of the trial run if a scheme dubbed 'Mini-Holland aimed at improving facilities for cyclists.

For the last two weeks the community in Walthamstow has been divided over the test run of a trial scheme, which is expected to be rolled out across the borough over the next three years.

Rival petitions have both attracted nearly 1,000 signitures and a debate has been raging on social media.

Under the trial, A stretch of Orford Road was blocked-off to vehicles, while others converted from two-way to one-way and vice versa.

But critics claim it has caused congestion and was badly planned, while supporters said it was a necessary to tackle air pollution and improve safety.

The trial began on September 26.
