Pupils at a Highams Park school have spent the morning with the creator of the much-loved Captain Underpants.
Bestselling American author and illustrator, Dav Pilkey, visited children at Handsworth Primary School, based in Handsworth Avenue yesterday.
A special assembly was held, with Mr Pilkey speaking to pupils about his series of children's novels which features a school principal, Mr Krupp, who is hypnotised and fights crime in his underpants.
He held a book signing for the new release of his eleventh novel 'Captain Underpants and the Tyrannical Retaliation of the Turbo Toilet 2000'.
The popular series, voted earlier this year as the most complained about book is US libraries, has sold 70 million copies worldwide and been translated into more than 20 languages.
