A children’s club has been taken out of special measures after making improvements.

Standards at Climbers Kids' Club, based in Queens Road Community Centre, Walthamstow, were criticised by inspectors in March of this year.

The club, which cares for over sixty children, was judged to be failing in all areas.

Staff were criticised for the quality of activities, with child safety measures deemed not robust enough.

Follow a follow-up visit by Ofsted, inspector Jennifer Forbes found improvements in all areas.

In a report released today she said: “Babies and children form close attachments to staff and good relationships with each other. They settle well and their good behaviour demonstrates that they feel safe and secure in the nursery.

“Staff regularly undertake training to keep their knowledge and skills updated.

“Children learn through a variety of interesting and exciting experiences as staff effectively support and extend their learning as they play.”
