The trial date has been set for a Chingford man accused of trafficking a Class a drug around London and the south-east of England.
Arif Bullici, 35, of Station Road, was one of seven men arrested and charged with conspiracy to supply heroin following a London-wide crackdown on September 29.
Arrests were made after officers from the Metropolitan Police Service Central Task Force (SCO7) recovered 48kgs of heroin from a car in Crewe and a house in Edmonton.
The drugs have an estimated street value of £20 million.
Bullici appeared at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing.
He has been remanded in custody to enter a plea on January 7 with Bilal Bildik, 60, of Severn Drive in Enfield, Emra Kosmaz, 39, of the Bemerton Estate in Islington, Salman Male, 29, of Soho Avenue in Birmingham, Kovan Kochar, 24, of Hamilton Road in Birmingham and Dutch national Gijsbertus Den-Hertog, aged 48.
The trial, scheduled for March 30, is expected to last six weeks.
