A sixties band are set to return to a Chingford venue 50 years after they first played there.

As teenagers, a group of friends formed The Beaucrees in Walthamstow in 1963 and became a semi-professional band, performing over 2,000 shows across the UK.

Reformed in 2012 with a sell-out performance in Braintree, Essex, they will now be returning to Chingford Assembly Hall for the first time since their debut performance in 1965.

Lead singer Dave Francis, guitarists Pete Jackson and Mick Kain, drummer Tony Tutton, bass player Chris Williams and Keyboardist John Astrop will perform at the hall in Station Road on December 5.

Mr Astrop said: "We are probably the only band of the sixties that still has all of the original members.

"We are all in our sixties but have not lost any of the excitement of the era."

They show will include covers of hits by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Searches.

Besides The Assembly Hall, the band also played at the The Granada (EMD), Leyton Baths, The Cooks Ferry Inn and The Bell pub.

Door open at 7.30pm and tickets costing £10 are available to buy at www.thebeaucrees.co.uk
