A doctor’s surgery ordered to act after falling into a poor state of repair has still not fully addressed the issues, according to the health watchdog.

Despite meeting all national standards for care and patient treatment, The Manor Practice in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, was ordered to make changes by the Care Quality Commission (CCG) in February.

A CCG report said: “The building had a combination of worn carpeting and worn linoleum flooring. Walls had painted chip-board wallpaper.

“A combination of wear and tear, worn flooring and painted wall paper, window blinds which were difficult to clean and fabric covered chairs in reception and elsewhere, made it difficult to maintain the physical environment to an acceptable standard for both staff and people using the service.”

Last month the CCG found that although extra cleaning had been done, the problems had not addressed.

A report released earlier this month raised ongoing concerns over leaks, peeling paint and a possible damp problem.

Dr Martin Huddart and Dr Waheed Asubiaro are the registered managers.

The surgery manager refused to comment officially but revelaed that work is underway.

A senior partner is said to be purchasing the surgery and the CQC will re-visit in the new year.
