Shops, restaurants and much loved venues around Waltham Forest have been shortlisted as some of the top local attractions in the Time Out awards.

The Love London awards give residents and visitors the chance to celebrate their favourite haunts.

There are five award categories including the most popular venue, restaurant, café or coffee shop, pub or bar and local shop.

This year, Waltham Forest Council has two local attractions shortlisted – the award-winning William Morris Gallery and Lloyd Park, which was restored in 2012.

Other popular venues up for an award include God’s Own Junkyard and The Blackhorse Work shop.

Locally loved shops and pubs are also in the race for an award.

Council leader, Cllr Chris Robbins, said: “Waltham Forest is a fantastic place to live and this is our chance to show how proud we are of the many excellent cultural venues and local businesses we have.

“You can cast your vote for your favourite shop or venue in just a few clicks online – so let’s get behind our shops, eateries and cultural attractions and show the rest of London why we think they’re the best in the capital.”

More than 70 businesses and venues are up for awards.

Voting closes on October 18.
