A roofer is facing a hefty fine and voluntary work after admitting he tried to sell on stolen T-shirts before his Walthamstow home was raided.
Wade Lovell, 30, of Ardleigh Road was arrested by police after a search warrant was executed on the morning of July 11.
The married father-of-two was found in possession with the clothing worth £684 which he admitted buying to sell on privately for extra cash.
Thames Magistrates Court heard how the 100 Diesel t-shirts had been stolen in a burglary at a storage unit belonging to Anooj Sareen.
The court did not disclose where the unit was based.
After pleading guilty to one count of handling stolen goods, the full-time roofer told the magistrates: "It was only a case of not having any money so I picked up the shirts to make some extra cash privately.
"I didn't know they were stolen but I didn't ask either."
Magistrates have recommended Lovell be fined and ordered to carry out community service at the sentencing on October 29.
