A town council is set to hold its annual skateboarding festival ahead of plans to build a permanent skate park in the area.
Loughton Town Council will launch Loughton Skatefest next week in light of current plans for a community skate and BMX park to be built in the town.
The council have reserved £40,000 to help fund the new project which will open in collaboration with Loughton Youth Project and Skate Loughton when a suitable location is found.
The festival, which will take place in Roding Valley High School's playground in Brook Road on October 30, will entertain locals with a variety of activities including a 5ft half pipe, portable ramps, professional rider performances, workshops and cycle training sessions.
Admission to the event is free.
