A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Walthamstow.

Emergency services were called to Higham Hill Road shortly before 6pm yesterday afternoon, following reports of a stabbing.

London Ambulance Service has confirmed a man in his 20s was treated by paramedics at the scene for a stab injury and taken to hospital as a priority.

Police set up a cordon outside the Co-Operative food store, where an employee was stabbed in the back just yards from the shop on July 24.

The cordon was removed a few hours later.

Less than two weeks after the 20-year-old Co-Op worker was knifed at the turning with Gloucester Road, a 19-year-old was stabbed during a street robbery in Carlton Road.

Police have been contacted for further details.
