A disability lodge has received a £1650 donation from an athlete.

Marathon runner, Louise Wilkinson, 29, of Clapham, presented Vitalise Jubilee Lodge in Grange Farm, Chigwell, with the cheque after completing the London Marathon this year.

Vitalise, a national charity providing essential breaks for people with disabilities and carers, was able to purchase 12 new televisions that were fitted into rooms at the Chigwell lodge this week.

The donation follows an £8,500 makeover of three of the 33 guest rooms.

Louise Wilkinson said: “When I finished the Marathon it seemed completely logical to donate the money I’d raised to Jubilee Lodge.

“I was really pleased when I found out how many fantastic new TVs they had been able to buy, just seeing the new TVs in the new rooms makes me feel proud.

“I can’t think of a more deserving cause, I hope the guests will enjoy them for many years to come.”
