A sales manager who went into hiding for a year after stealing nearly £3,000 from his employer to pay his debts has appeared in court.
Kwame Bryan, of Gipsy Road in Crystal Palace, collected money for cosmetics company Sleek Make-Up, based at Argall Avenue, Leyton, during 2012.
The 43-year-old deposited £2,821 from clients into his own account and went into hiding, Thames Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday.
He was eventually arrested in September and has since paid back the money.
Mitigating, Michael Bowers said his client had been living beyond his means and got into debt.
Bryan is due to be sentenced on November 10.
