An aerodrome has introduced quieter training planes into its fleet.

Stapleford Flight Centre in Ongar Road, Stapleford Tawney, near Theydon Bois, which has been training private and airline pilots for over 40 years, welcomed the first of the two-seater training aircrafts, last week.

The new Tecnam P2008JCs, which will be used for training purposes and for trial lessons for aviation enthusiasts and would-be pilots, are known for being cost effective, quiet and environmentally friendly.

The first of the new aeroplanes, which is expected to undergo its first flight by Friday,  has been introduced whilst the flight centre considers a phased replacement of one of its entire training fleets.

Head of Training Colin Dobney said: “We looked at many different options and we have opted for the Tecnam P2008JC.

"We have now got the first one and have options for four more Tecnam aircraft once we evaluate performance in our school environment.

"The new plane has state of the art electronic flight display screens, as well as conventional standby instruments.

"This will be an enormous benefit to students, especially those intending to become professional airline pilots."
