Neighbours of a reggae fan finally evicted from her home for continually playing loud music have spoken of their relief.
Chrissie Holyoak, 53, who was described by neighbours as “a nightmare”, was ordered to leave her council house in Boxted Close, Buckhurst Hill, after breaching a noise abatement notice.
The former bus driver was convicted in June at Chelmsford Crown Court of six offences of breaching an earlier anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) by playing loud reggae music between July 1 and August 27 last year.
Neighbours who spoke to The Guardian, were so intimidated by Holyoak they asked not to be named over fears of repercussions.
One Mother-of-three said: “the council made the right decision.
“I could not be more grateful, it had gone too far.
Another, who has lived in the road for 13 years, said: “She was the neighbour from hell and I had reached my limit.”
The property was repossessed on October 20.
