A man has been ordered to pay compensation for stealing a £830 bicycle.
Richard Todd, of Montague Road, Leytonstone, stole the bicycle on June 19 while it was left by its owner outside the takeaway Carolina Pizza, in Mare Street, Hackney.
The 25-year-old appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court last Wednesday where he was forced to pay £450 compensation, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
He was also given a conditional discharge of 12 months and told to return the bicycle.
