Two men accused of assaulting two traffic wardens whilst on duty in a busy high street have been bailed again.

The parking enforcement officers were attacked in The Broadway in Woodford Green by a driver and a car passenger after one of them tried to issue a ticket.

Police were called to the scene near Woodford Tube station on August 20 at around 2.40pm and gave chase to the attackers but they were not found.

Paramedics arrived and treated the wardens for bruising to the face and limbs.

Two men both aged 30 from Woodford Green and Rainham were later arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm (ABH).

They had been released on bail until mid October but it has now been extended until late next week.
