A sex offender has been jailed for 16 months and banned from the Central Line during rush hour after he targeted a woman on the tube twice.

Mohibur Rahman, of Ligonier Street in Shoreditch, was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court on Friday after being found guilty of two counts of sexual assault on October 9.

The 35-year-old is prohibited from using the Central Line for five years between 7am and 10am and 4pm and 7pm.

He is also banned from entering Holborn station on weekdays.

His victim, a 28-year-old woman from Ilford, was groped by Rahman onboard a train between Chancery Lane and Bank station on February 3.

He targeted the same woman on an escalator at Holborn Station on February 20.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers discovered from Rahman's Oyster card history that he had made several short journeys but had taken vast amounts of time to touch out.
