A constable was bitten by a man who drove his mobility scooter at a police car responding to reports of a disturbance at a pub.
The incident happened just after midnight on October 19 at the Princess of Wales, it has emerged.
Police were called to the pub in Lea Bridge Road, near the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, after Anthony Walker, 31, of Louisa Oakes Close in Chingford, smashed a glass pane in the pub door.
As officers went to approach Walker, he drove his mobility scooter towards them and collided with the rear bumper of the marked police car.
Arresting officer PC Marsh then tried to detain him and he was spat at and bitten on the hand.
Walker was arrested and later charged with criminal damage and assaulting a constable.
He pleaded guilty to both counts at Thames Magistrates Court on October 20 and was fined £150 plus £40 costs for attacking the officer and a further £100 compensation for criminal damage.
